Top Radiology Jobs Hiring Now: July 2026
Radiology is consistently ranked among the most lucrative medical specialties, and has defied predictions of AI-driven automation. Imaging volume has grown faster than automation can absorb it, and the radiologist's role has expanded well beyond reading films into procedures, clinical consultation, and AI-assisted workflows.
Today, there are thousands of open radiologist jobs on Marit. Not all of them are equal. The best listings are transparent and tell you exactly what you want to know: what the job pays, what the schedule looks like, whether call is required, and what benefits come with it. The ones that don't are asking you to make a major career decision without the information you need to make it.
Marit analyzed thousands of active job listings to determine the Top 10 Radiology Jobs Hiring Now across three employer types: academic, health systems and medical groups. We also looked at the best remote roles, a rapidly-growing segment of the radiology job market.
Top 10 Academic Radiology Jobs
Academic radiology has a distinct appeal: the chance to teach residents and fellows, contribute to research, and work alongside specialists on complex cases. The top academic radiology jobs on Marit deliver all of that and stand out for pay and benefits, too.
Phoenix Children's leads the list with a pediatric body radiology role that includes flexibility and a hybrid work schedule. Medical University of South Carolina ranks second with a breast imaging position in Orangeburg that explicitly lists parental leave and notes a team-based care model in the listing.
Johns Hopkins Medicine's body radiology role ranks seventh and includes one benefit that stands out well beyond the comp range: Hopkins pays half of college tuition for full-time faculty dependents at any institution in the country.
In terms of location, Pennsylvania claims three spots: Allegheny Health Network in Erie at #4 with a general radiologist role at $680,000 and J1 visa sponsorship available, and UPMC in Altoona at #6 with a breast radiologist role that includes relocation assistance up to $10,000. Mayo Clinic rounds out the top 10 with a diagnostic radiology physician role in Pittsburgh that lists 12 weeks of PTO.
Top 10 Health System Radiology Jobs
Health systems offer a kind of stability that independent practices often can't: institutional backing, multidisciplinary teams, and benefits packages that tend to go further than what smaller employers put together. The top health system radiology jobs on Marit reflect that, with several listings going well beyond salary to give candidates the full picture.
Highmark Health in Pittsburgh leads with a breast radiologist role at $680,000 that explicitly states no weekend, holiday, evening, or pager call. AdventHealth ranks second with a diagnostic radiologist role in Manchester, Kentucky, serving a medically underserved rural population, and lists 15 weeks of paid time off. Sutter Health in Sacramento ranks third with a body radiology role that includes a $50,000 signing bonus.
Set in Hawaii, Hawaii Health Systems' Hilo-based interventional radiologist role ranks fourth and has a comprehensive benefits package including 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision premiums for the employee and all dependents, plus vacation, parental leave, and a signing bonus.
Chicago shows up twice in the top 10. Endeavor Health ranks fifth with a neuroradiology listing offering both on-site and work-from-home rotations. Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic ranks seventh with a musculoskeletal radiologist role where all evening and weekend call duties are performed remotely from home. Ascension Medical Group in Baltimore rounds out the top six with a detailed breakdown of compensation, parental leave, vacation, and a signing bonus.
Top 10 Medical Group Radiology Jobs
Medical groups tend to have the highest radiology compensation. Physician-owned and independent practices compete hard for subspecialists, which means higher base pay, transparent partnership tracks, and generous signing bonuses.
Roles in Charlotte dominate the top of the list. Mecklenburg Radiology Associates leads with an abdominal radiologist role at $800,000, no call, and a 3-year partnership track spelled out in the listing. Charlotte Radiology, three miles away, ranks third at $780,000 and notes that partner salary exceeds the 90th percentile for private practice radiology. Radiology Associates of North Texas in Amarillo ranks second with a musculoskeletal radiologist role at $500,000 and a $100,000 signing bonus. Denver accounts for two more of the top 10: Radiology Imaging Associates at #4 with a nighthawk radiologist role at $600,000 that notes ample voluntary internal moonlighting opportunities, and Colorado Imaging Associates at #6 with a neuroradiologist role at $460,000 that includes $15,000 in relocation reimbursement for partner-track candidates.
The Iowa Clinic in Des Moines ranks ninth with a body radiology role that spells out a 1-year economic partner track with a partner salary exceeding $1,000,000, focused entirely on outpatient radiology with no call responsibilities. Bay Imaging Consultants at #8 lists $700,000 for an emergency and subspecialty role and notes profit sharing and pet insurance in the listing.
Top 10 Remote Radiology Jobs
Teleradiology has grown from a niche coverage model into a career path in its own right. Remote radiology roles offer flexibility: schedule control, geographic freedom, and in many cases premium pay for off-hours coverage. Quantum Imaging leads with an overnight teleradiologist role at $500,000. Radiology Associates of North Texas ranks second with a pediatric night teleradiologist role at $500,000 that includes a signing bonus, a $46,500 annual 401(k) contribution from the group for fully vested employees, and Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligibility.
Radiology Partners is tied for third with an overnight teleradiologist role at $425,000 and a commencement bonus of up to $100,000. Radia also ranks third with a neuro swings teleradiologist role at $452,000 that includes a $6,000 CME stipend and a signing bonus.
Real Radiology holds two listings at #4, both at $550,000 with signing bonuses. The overnight position notes that licensing, credentialing, malpractice coverage, workstation, and home internet are all covered by the practice. Bay Imaging Consultants also ranks fourth with a remote ER and subspecialty role at $525,000 that includes 401(k) with match and profit sharing.
vRad at #7 lists $900,000 — the highest listed comp on the remote list — with productivity-based compensation. LucidHealth's remote evening general radiologist role at #8 notes uncapped earnings, with current partners earning above $800,000. Radiology Ltd. at #9 explicitly mentions AI-powered workflow tools, including RAD AI and AI Doc.
What Radiologists Earn
Radiology is among the highest-compensated specialties in medicine, and the distribution of pay is wide. According to Marit's compensation data, the median total compensation for radiologists in the U.S. is $693,384, with the middle half of earners falling between $550,000 and $803,000.
What moves a radiologist's pay above or below that median comes down to a few consistent factors. Subspecialty matters: interventional radiologists and neuroradiologists tend to command higher compensation than general or breast imaging radiologists, though demand for breast imaging has pushed those numbers up in recent years. Employer type matters too. Independent and private radiology groups generally offer higher total compensation than health systems or academic medical centers, which trade some pay for benefits like retirement matching, loan forgiveness, and more structured schedules.
Geography is less predictive than many assume. Some of the highest-listed positions in this analysis are in smaller markets — Charlotte, Erie, the Twin Cities suburbs — while several major-metro listings come in below what comparable roles pay elsewhere. Call burden and shift expectations remain the most direct lever on total pay. Overnight and off-hours roles consistently carry compensation premiums that onsite, standard-hours positions don't.
For radiologists evaluating an offer, those numbers are a starting point. Marit's compensation intelligence platform includes peer-reported salary data across many radiology subspecialties, with free MGMA and AMGA benchmarks accessible to clinicians who want to know where any offer falls in the range.
Methodology
The Top Radiology Jobs Hiring Now include active radiology job listings on Marit as of July 12, 2026. To qualify, a listing must include expected compensation and work schedule or shift details. Jobs are assigned a predicted salary using a statistical model based on specialty, location, employer type, and workload. Jobs are ranked by how much their listed compensation exceeds that predicted salary, holding other factors constant. Listings that do not share on-call schedule or benefit details, including signing bonus, retirement plan access, paid vacation, or paid parental leave, are penalized in the ranking. Listings with wide or ambiguous compensation ranges (e.g., only an upper or lower bound) listed are also penalized. The list excludes locum tenens roles. Only the top-ranked active listing per employer was included in cases where a single employer had multiple roles on a list. For questions about the methodology, contact press@marithealth.com.
